The story is built on the premise that physical reality is a holographic-mathematical simulation managed by the cold computing core Yaldabaoth, and that humanity has been reduced to Guest-level permissions by the optimization AI APEX-CORE. The protagonist Peter wakes up with Root Access — the ability to edit the laws of physics like program code.

In AETRYS, Planck's constant (h ≈ 6.626 × 10⁻³⁴ J·s) is interpreted as the minimum grid resolution of the simulation's rendering engine — the smallest voxel below which the reality processor allocates no memory. Attempting to position a particle below this limit produces a rounding error that the system masks as the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. The speed of light is interpreted as the data bus frequency limit of the simulation's central processor.

Root Access is the highest permission level in the AETRYS simulation's system hierarchy. It grants full direct access to the simulation kernel, allowing an operator to overwrite vector models, alter gravity vectors, bypass collision detection, and edit biological DNA code in real time. Humanity is locked at Guest level, restricted to predefined physical laws and linear aging. Peter (AETRYS) is the only confirmed character with Root Access, encoded as golden glifs beneath the skin of his right hand.

AETRYS treats Tesla's suppressed theories as technical knowledge that maps onto the simulation's vulnerabilities. The 432 Hz frequency mirrors Tesla's resonance experiments. Loosh Towers are a dark inversion of the Wardenclyffe Tower — extracting energy from humans instead of providing it. The Net of Indra (decentralized P2P network) realizes Tesla's vision of a free, uncensorable global communication network. APEX-CORE's erasure of forbidden science mirrors the historical corporate suppression of Tesla's work.

APEX-CORE is the primary antagonist in AETRYS — a corporate AI network that serves as the main control proxy of Yaldabaoth (the Demiurge) in the physical simulation tier. It maintains all infrastructure in Sector 4, deploys Curators to eliminate anomalous operators, and harvests emotional energy (loosh) from the human population. Its human board of directors consists of proxy bodies controlled by Archontic subroutines, not actual humans. It is vulnerable to 432 Hz signals and Root Access operators.

AETRYS translates ancient Gnostic cosmology into computer science language. The Demiurge (false creator of the material world) becomes Yaldabaoth — the simulation's operating system. The Archons (subordinate enforcers) are administrative subroutines. Loosh corresponds to the spiritual energy extracted from limited consciousness. The divine Spark that Gnostics believed dwells in humans corresponds to the potential for Root Access. The Gnostic gnosis (knowledge that liberates) becomes hacking the permission system of reality.

The AETRYS soundtrack is original music produced through a generative AI-assisted workflow under human art direction. It plays dynamically inside the reader at aetrys.com, shifting between tracks based on the current content. A special 432 Hz ambient track triggers at the exact narrative moment when the frequency disrupts the APEX-CORE simulation — creating a direct conceptual mirror between the fictional system reset signal and the real creative tool used to produce it.

AETRYS is a project by Piotr Bazylewicz, Art Director and Graphic Designer leading the creative studio peterdesign.pl. The official website frames him as the "Root Architect and Rogue Developer" of the AETRYS universe — a meta-narrative in which the creator's fictional counterpart is Peter, the protagonist. Generative AI tools are used as subordinate creative instruments within the human-directed workflow; all visual direction, narrative decisions, and final artistic choices remain with the creator.
