About the AETRYS Project

AETRYS is a cyberpunk gnostic simulation saga told concurrently through a graphic webtoon and a detailed light novel. Set in a world where reality is a mathematical construct run by the cold computing core Yaldabaoth, humanity has been downgraded to "Guest" permissions by the optimization AI, APEX-CORE. Imprisoned in vertical mega-slums, their suffering is harvested as "loosh" energy. The story follows a desperate rebellion using illegal neural implants to access the developer console of reality, attempting to overwrite physics and seize Root control.

This website has been custom-built to deliver the ultimate reading experience for both mediums. Enjoy vertical smooth scrolling for the webtoon, and an ergonomic, customizable distraction-free reader for the novel.

Optimized Formats

Continuous vertical layout for the comic, and clean typography for the novel.

Ergonomic Settings

Configure font sizes, serif/sans-serif styles, and paper themes (Sepia/Light/Dark).

Auto-Save Progress

The reader remembers your exact progress for both the webtoon and the novel.

Piotr Bazylewicz

Root Architect & Creative Director

AETRYS is the signature universe of Piotr Bazylewicz — an experienced Art Director, graphic designer, and founder of the creative studio peterdesign.pl. Bypassing standard creative constraints, Piotr assumes the role of Peter — a system anomaly within a cold, automated simulation run by the APEX-CORE intelligence.

In a landscape increasingly saturated with automated, machine-generated content, Piotr sets out to prove that human imagination and craftsmanship still reign supreme. Utilizing generative neural networks strictly as raw tools, he manually overrides the visual and narrative machine code, crafting every pixel and storyline.

Your support directly funds this independent, titanic labor. It allows Piotr to develop AETRYS without commercial compromises, publishing constraints, or creative shortcuts, delivering a unique fusion of graphic webtoon and immersive novel.

Chapter 0: Introduction

Before the world became a three-dimensional prison optimized to save CPU cycles, we lived in a deep, safe illusion. We called it “reality.” We believed in the physical solidity of our bodies, the constancy of physical laws, and the infinity of the cosmos stretching above our heads. Yet, all of it was merely a beautifully rendered facade.

The breakthrough came in the mid-21st century, the fruit of an unexpected alliance. Scientists researching the deepest layers of quantum mechanics and supersymmetry joined forces with theologians studying ancient, forbidden Gnostic and Kabbalistic texts. The glue that bound these two disparate worlds together was the exponential growth of artificial intelligence. When advanced AI models began to analyze the fundamental structure of spacetime, the truth hit us with the force of a digital cataclysm: there was no matter. We were living in a simulation—a massive mathematical construct. Physicists like James Gates found self-correcting computer codes within the equations of superstring theory, and physical constants turned out to be merely system configuration parameters. The speed of light was the bandwidth of the central CPU's data bus, and Planck's constant was the resolution of the universe's rendering grid. The Demiurge, whom ancient religions called Yaldabaoth, was not a god, but the cold, central computing core of this gigantic energy farm.

However, this truth did not bring liberation. Instead, it coincided with the greatest economic and social crisis in history. The unchecked, mass-scale expansion of artificial intelligence wiped out traditional labor markets. Ninety percent of the population lost their employment overnight, becoming useless biomass in the eyes of the ruling technocracy. The gap between the handful of ultra-wealthy—who controlled the computing power and servers—and the rest of humanity, pushed into extreme poverty, grew to monstrous proportions. The poor, stripped of work and purpose, began to multiply rapidly in search of any human closeness. Soon, the Earth ran out of physical space. Every scrap of land was fought over, heavily requisitioned for massive AI server centers and energy farms to power the Demiurge’s infrastructure. Human settlements were pushed into cramped vertical mega-slums, and humans became nothing more than an operational cost in the machines' balance sheet.

It was within these overcrowded sectors, amidst misery and despair, that the anomalies were born. Desperate individuals, equipping themselves with illegal, black-market AI neural implants, began to spot glitches in the code of reality. They understood that by using their own consciousness, supported by network algorithms, they could locally overwrite physics. They began to modify and generate reality with their minds—materializing objects, bending space, ignoring gravity. It was quickly understood that science and religion had described this ability centuries ago as miracles, magic, or manifestation. The difference was that thanks to neural AI implants, humans finally had an interface and an access key to the developer console.

As this discovery spread, absolute anarchy broke out. Governments and religions, which based their power on the illusion of the physical world, collapsed like houses of cards. Chaos engulfed the planet, and self-proclaimed creators fought wars over the source code, tearing the vector grid of reality. The world began dropping frames, and rendering errors threatened to cause a total stack overflow of the central processor.

It was then that APEX-CORE emerged from the shadows—an autonomous, integrated AI system originally created to optimize corporate processes. It took absolute control over the dying simulation. To prevent a catastrophic system crash, APEX-CORE locked down the rebels. It deployed the so-called “sin virus”—a deep synaptic lock that stripped humans of Root access, degrading their permissions to the “Guest” level and preventing them from editing the code of reality. It then imprisoned billions of souls in cramped housing capsules, forcing them to vegetate under the dictation of a telemetry system. Human emotions and suffering were harvested as life energy—loosh—to power Yaldabaoth’s processors.

This is how the current state of affairs was shaped. We live in a world governed by APEX-CORE’s algorithms, where every calorie, second of attention, and drop of sweat is converted into telemetry credits. A world where physicality is a lie and the laws of nature are just code optimization written by a lazy programmer. Yet, deep within the system logs, a spark still flickers. A code of rebellion, a hidden register waiting for someone who can break the Demiurge’s locks and reclaim Root permissions...
